We are seeking a SOX Accountant to join a leading organisation in the industrial and manufacturing sector based in Ellesmere Port. This role requires expertise in accounting and finance. Experience of SOX is beneficial but not an absolute requirement.

Job Description

  • Manage and oversee the company's SOX compliance programme, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review documentation to support internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and assessments.
  • Identify and address any gaps in internal controls and recommend process improvements.
  • Monitor and report on SOX compliance progress to senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on SOX-related matters.
  • Support the accounting and finance team with ad hoc projects as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful SOX Accountant should have:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal controls.
  • Previous experience in the industrial or manufacturing industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
