Job Description

A Building Manager's Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of building operations and service delivery.
  • Develop strong relationships with occupiers and act as the primary point of contact for operational matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, fire safety and statutory requirements.
  • Manage contractors and service partners, driving performance against agreed standards and KPIs.
  • Oversee service charge budgets, purchase orders and expenditure.
  • Conduct regular building inspections to maintain high standards of presentation and service.
  • Support building projects, occupier fit-outs and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness, business continuity and incident management processes.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Building Manager should have:

  • Strong facilities management experience within commercial property, corporate FM, or a similar operational environment.
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety, statutory compliance, contractor management, permits to work, RAMS, and fire safety.
  • Experience managing occupier relationships and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Good understanding of building services including mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Commercial awareness with experience supporting service charge budgets and supplier performance management.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with strong judgement and problem-solving abilities.
