Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the most senior full-time finance professional within the Group, working closely with the Board and Fractional CFO.This is a broad leadership position combining financial control, commercial finance and strategic business partnering. Whilst the role retains responsibility for statutory reporting, governance and financial stewardship, the successful candidate will play a key role in transforming financial information into meaningful business insight.Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the finance function across the Group and its subsidiaries
  • Producing consolidated management accounts and Board reporting
  • Delivering commercial insight to support strategic decision-making
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
  • Partnering with the CEO and senior leadership team to improve business performance
  • Developing reporting frameworks, KPIs and profitability analysis
  • Managing the Group audit and statutory reporting process
  • Supporting growth initiatives, investment decisions and operational improvements
  • Leading and developing a small finance team
  • Attending Board meetings and contributing to business strategy



The Successful Applicant

For this Commercial Head of Finance or Commercial Financial Controller opportunity, we are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong blend of financial leadership and commercial acumen.You will likely be operating as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or potentially a Finance Business Partner or Finance Director within an SME, entrepreneurial or growth-focused environment.You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong technical accounting and reporting capability
  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders or Boards
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to influence outcomes
  • The ability to turn data into actionable business insight
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to operate across both strategic and operational activities
  • Ambition to develop into a broader Finance Director position over time
