Job Description

  • Conduct detailed conflicts research on companies, organisations, and individuals involved in prospective client matters.
  • Analyse conflicts reports and research findings to identify potential legal and commercial conflicts of interest.
  • Advise lawyers and business services teams on conflicts issues and potential routes to resolution.
  • Escalate complex conflicts matters to senior management, compliance teams, or General Counsel functions when required.
  • Maintain and update corporate structures, group relationships, and organisational hierarchies within conflicts systems.
  • Carry out ongoing research into mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and insolvency events to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with the identification and resolution of emerging or unforeseen conflicts issues.
  • Process client and matter maintenance requests, including matter openings, closures, amendments, and related administrative updates.
  • Support wider conflicts and compliance projects as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of conflicts processes and procedures.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience within a Conflicts, Risk & Compliance, New Business Intake, or legal research role.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using conflicts databases, ideally Intapp or similar systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of a professional services environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • High levels of discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Experience gained within a law firm or professional services environment would be advantageous.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
