Job Description

Clients on a broad range of contentious construction and engineering matters.

Providing strategic dispute avoidance and risk management advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Supporting clients through negotiations, mediations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Advising on disputes involving:

  • Delays and disruptions
  • Defects and performance issues
  • Payment disputes
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Contractor and consultant disputes



Leading or assisting with adjudications, litigation, domestic arbitration, and international arbitration proceedings.

Working closely with clients, technical experts, counsel, and multidisciplinary legal teams to deliver practical solutions.

Managing matters with increasing autonomy while collaborating on larger, more complex disputes.

Taking an active role in business development and helping to strengthen existing client relationships.

Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior lawyers within the team.

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' PQE in contentious construction and engineering law.
  • Strong experience advising on complex construction, infrastructure, and engineering disputes.
  • Exposure to adjudication, litigation, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Experience of international arbitration (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to confidently manage matters and client relationships.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers.
  • A genuine interest in business development and practice growth.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
