We are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join a leading legal department within the financial services industry. This 12-month fixed-term contract, based in London, will involve providing expert legal support and guidance to the UK and wider EMEA business.

Job Description

As Employment Counsel, you will:

  • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused employment advice to HR and business leaders across the UK and wider EMEA region.
  • Support on a variety of employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances, dismissals, investigations and dispute resolution.
  • Assist on any ad hoc litigious matters
  • Draft, review and update employment policies, contracts, and handbooks.
  • Partner with HR on change programmes such as restructures, organisational design, integration, harmonisation and workforce transitions.
  • Keep the organisation abreast of developments in employment legislation, risk management and best practice.
  • Contribute to legal, HR and cross‑functional projects, committees and regulatory initiatives across the region.



The Successful Applicant

  • A qualified employment lawyer with experience in financial services gained in a reputable law firm and/or in‑house environment.
  • Available for an immediate start or date prior to March 01st
  • Practical, balanced, and commercially-minded approach to legal risk
  • Collaborative, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving business.
