About Our Client

Our client is a small company experiencing rapid growth and investment. As the business continues to expand across the UK and internationally, they are looking for a commercially minded individual to lead the finance function and help drive strategic growth.

Job Description



  • Finance Director Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Finance
    • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
    • Drive pricing, profitability and margin improvement initiatives.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases.
    • Support international financial planning as overseas operations expand.



    Financial Management

    • Lead the finance function and manage the Bookkeeper.
    • Produce monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
    • Oversee cash flow, working capital and KPI reporting.
    • Monitor profitability and identify performance trends and anomalies.



    Financial Control

    • Maintain robust financial controls and compliance.
    • Manage month-end and year-end processes.
    • Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
    • Oversee VAT, tax compliance and balance sheet reconciliations.



    Operational Responsibilities

    • Oversee AP, AR, credit control and payroll.
    • Improve financial systems, reporting and process automation.
    • Support ERP and accounting system optimisation.


The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Director should have:

  • Essential
    * ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
    * Experience in a similar senior finance role.
    * Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards.
    * Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
    * Experience of international trading and multi-currency accounting.
    * Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar.
    * Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
    * Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
