Job Description

Financial controller:

  • Oversee financial control activities to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
  • Managing the finance team, coaching and mentoring.
  • Prepare financial reports that give clear information for planning and decision-making.
  • Review financial data and resolve discrepancies to improve accuracy.
  • Manage month-end processes and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitor budgets and spending, highlighting key variances where needed.
  • Maintain effective financial procedures across the Accounting & Finance department.
  • Provide financial information to internal stakeholders in a clear and practical format.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:

  • Experience in financial control and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing and developing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end processes and financial reconciliations.
  • Ability to review financial information and identify discrepancies.
  • Experience of budget monitoring and variance analysis.
  • Confidence presenting clear financial information to colleagues.
  • Ability to manage competing finance deadlines in an organised way.
