Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Financial Controller will take ownership of financial reporting, controls, compliance and business performance across a diverse group structure. This is a hands-on position suited to an individual who enjoys operating strategically whilst remaining close to the detail. The successful candidate will lead improvements across reporting, systems and processes.

About Our Client

Michael Page Finance are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and entrepreneurial group to recruit a Financial Controller for their growing business. This is a newly created opportunity within a diverse and growing business operating across multiple sectors including property investment, property development, hospitality, leisure and alternative investments. Following a period of significant growth, the business is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to bring greater rigour, commercial insight and process improvement to its finance function. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future finance function within a fast moving and ambitious organisation.

Job Description

  • Production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting across multiple entities.
  • Preparation of board packs with insightful financial and operational commentary.
  • Ownership of weekly and long-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Management and enhancement of the group consolidation process.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and coordination of year-end reporting requirements.
  • Management of external audits and key stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversight of lender reporting, loan covenant compliance and investor reporting.
  • Development of budgets, forecasts and KPI reporting frameworks.
  • Supporting strategic business planning and funding initiatives.
  • Oversight of payroll, VAT, PAYE and regulatory compliance activities.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Previous Financial Controller experience or a proven track record operating at a senior finance level.
  • Strong experience producing management accounts, statutory accounts and board reporting.
  • Experience managing audit processes and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent cash flow forecasting and financial planning skills.
  • Strong systems, Excel and data analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to operate within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
