The organisation is currently undergoing a significant transformation programme, offering a unique opportunity to play a key role in modernising operations and shaping future capability.Job DescriptionWe are recruiting a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to lead maintenance and facilities operations within a complex, small-batch manufacturing environment. This is change-led role focused on moving from reactive to preventive maintenance, strengthening EHS standards, and driving operational excellence.You will take ownership of plant reliability, maintenance strategy, contractor management, and capital projects, while embedding a strong safety-first culture and continuous improvement mindset. The role includes leading CMMS implementation, optimising preventive maintenance programmes, and improving equipment uptime across ageing, low-automation machinery.Key responsibilities include:Leading EHS standards, risk assessments, SOPs, and contractor complianceDriving maintenance transformation using data, root cause analysis, and KPI trackingManaging CMMS (MaintainX) rollout and utilisationDelivering CAPEX and site improvement projects (on time and on budget)Overseeing preventive maintenance, spares strategy, and budget controlMaintaining CAD layouts for site infrastructure and facilitiesEnsuring high equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and consistent production outputThe Successful ApplicantA successful Maintenance and Engineering Manager should have:A strong background in engineering and manufacturing processes.Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing teams.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.Experience with maintenance planning and budget management.Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related field.What's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £70,000 per annum.Bonus Scheme.Generous Pension SchemeHealth Cash Plan through Health Shield.25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join a thriving company in South Derbyshire.
