A Maintenance Engineer in Warrington will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and systems within the paint department of this Manufacturing and Production business. This role involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring minimal downtime for production processes.
  • Paint Maintenance Engineer - £73,339.00 overall inclusive of Shift Allowance.
  • 2 days (6am-6pm), 2 nights (6pm-6am), 4 off.

Job Description

As the Maintenance Engineer you will be tasked with the following -

* Plan and carry out preventive maintenance of machinery, systems and utility services

* Maintain highly sensitive equipment (e.g. paint atomizer)

* Support (and demonstrate flexibility) with paint process technicians when needed in their process daily checks and on other occasions as required fill in for process technician

* Demonstrate understanding of key paint process parameters and the impact of maintenance activities on the final quality of the product

* Repair efficiently paint line and auxiliaries during downtime

* Lead and participate in 8Ds relating to customer issues and safety

* Contribute and deliver good problem solving of daily downtime to put in long term solutions to prevent re-occurrence.

* Supervise external companies doing contract cleaning, maintenance and repair

* Seek constant reduction of unscheduled machinery and equipment downtime

* Participate in continuous improvement processes and activities

* Keep & create maintenance documentation available and updated

The Successful Applicant

A successful Maintenance Engineer should have:

* Paint process basic knowledge (essential)

* HNC in Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent)

* Technician certification with a specialty in several of the following fields - mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics (or equivalent)

* Committed to continuous development of own skills and knowledge, and to undertake training relevant to the role

* Robotics and application processes.

* Previous experience in a similar role (essential)

* Experience within an automotive maintenance environment and knowledge of maintenance systems (essential).

* Experience within automotive (desirable)

* Flexible approach with good teamwork skills.

* Able to respond quickly to any breakdown situation.

* Knowledge and experience of improvement techniques.

What's on Offer

  • Salary: £54,731.11 (Base salary) + 34% shift allowance, £73,339.00 overall.
  • Holiday entitlement of 23 days per annum.
  • Pension scheme with 10% employer and 5% employee contributions.
  • Continental shift pattern: 4 days on (day 1 & 2: 6am-6pm, day 3 & 4: 6pm-6am) followed by 4 days off.
