As a Management Accountant based in Southampton, you'll play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting and providing valuable insights to support business decisions. This permanent role will see you working closely with the Accounting & Finance team to help the business run efficiently and achieve its objectives
  • Develop expertise across reporting, forecasting and cash flow.
  • Work directly with the FC and help shape a growing finance function.

Job Description

Management Accountant responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts to provide clear financial insights.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning.
  • Maintain and reconcile financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyse variances and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Oversee cash flow management and assist with financial planning.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification or part-qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Experience within the retail industry or a similar sector.
  • Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
