As a Payroll Specialist you are responsible for managing end-to-end payroll across multiple restaurant brands, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with UK legislation, payroll reconciliations, reporting, and stakeholder support. It is a hands-on position within a fast-paced hospitality group, offering the opportunity to develop payroll expertise while supporting labour cost control, financial reporting, and operational teams.

Job Description

  • Process end-to-end payroll for multiple sites and brands.
  • Prepare payroll inputs, including salary changes, deductions, and TRONC payments.
  • Reconcile payroll against rotas and investigate variances.
  • Produce weekly labour cost and payroll reports.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with HMRC and UK legislation.
  • Maintain payroll records, controls, and reconciliations.
  • Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries.
  • Liaise with HR, Operations, and external payroll providers.
  • Support payroll reporting, forecasting, and labour cost analysis.
  • Identify and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Specialist should have:

  • 5 years payroll administration experience with end-to-end payroll processing.
  • TRONC experience
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory payments.
  • Experience using payroll systems such as Sage, Fourth/S4, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of data accurately.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with employees, managers, HR, and external providers.
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
