An event hosted by Michael Page Procurement & Supply Chain – Leeds – May 2015
On the 21st May 2015 we hosted an event at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds for senior procurement and supply chain professionals working for, or with, housing associations in the Yorkshire and Humberside region. We were fortunate enough to have John Wallace – Head of Procurement & Purchasing at Anchor Trust as our guest speaker. John is a well-respected, award-winning procurement and commercial professional with a demonstrable track record of achievement in terms of cost reduction, process improvement, innovation, leadership and transformational change. With over 20 years experience within the private and public sector, John has worked at large and complex organisations holding senior management positions in diverse sectors ranging from brewing and drinks and food industries to healthcare.
John talked the attendees through his procurement strategy focusing on how it adds value by supporting the trust’s five-year business plan. John shared his six cornerstones that underpin the structure and culture of procurement at the trust:
- Organisation specific
- Stakeholder engagement
- Procurement processes
- Resource management
- Leadership, strategy and policy
- Performance measurement and management
Thanks again to John and the attendees for their time and input.
