My career in IT recruitment began in 2006 and I joined Michael Page Technology in November 2008, initially in our London office, before being given the exciting opportunity to help launch Michael Page’s Technology division in Manchester. As a result of the unrivalled success of the team, I was promoted to manager in 2011 and associate director in 2014. I now have responsibility of growing our IT practice in the North of England (Manchester/Liverpool/Leeds/Sheffield) and manage a team of dedicated IT recruitment consultants who specialise in vertical IT markets, covering both permanent and contract recruitment. The great thing about working for Michael Page is their commitment to diversity, a subject I am passionate about. I founded Michael Page Technology’s ‘Women in IT’ group and have personally benefited from the Women@Page mentoring scheme. Women are under represented in IT, particularly at senior levels, and I enjoy working in partnership with my clients to provide a diverse shortlist of talented candidates to help their businesses thrive.During my career with Michael Page Technology I have enjoyed the opportunity to give back to the community as part of our corporate social responsibility programme which has included climbing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, hosting charity quiz nights and donating clothes to help other women look and feel confident at job interviews.Working at Michael Page offers a challenging, yet rewarding career. Most of all it’s great fun and I get to work with ambitious, likeminded people.
