"Meeting with the managing director I was very impressed with the strategy and vision laid out for the business. I was able to see the potential for growth and personal development"

Why did you join PageGroup?

I wanted to join a well known and respected brand which had a property division; this definitely limits your options. I have worked in recruitment in the property sector for years and wouldn’t consider any other agency in that market. I met with the managing director and was very impressed with the strategy and vision laid out for the business. I was able to see the potential for growth and personal development which was great.
The other huge pull for me was that I needed flexibility around children; when I joined Page my daughter was 14 months old and my step son eight years old. Juggling a baby and school hours is a challenge for anyone; I needed an employer who respected that you can be a working mother and still have ambition. I didn’t even interview anywhere else once I had met with Page, they are good sales people.
It has been a huge learning curve as we are a massive organisation! So far so good, I am still here and enjoying it.

How do you spend your time day to day?

I work from mainly Nottingham, Leeds and Birmingham although I do visit other offices with Property and Construction teams from time to time. I generally spend the day doing a mix of supporting my managers, at-desk training, speaking to clients and getting involved with the wider business. No day is the same and the weeks have flown by since last July. You are never bored.

What is most rewarding about your job?

The most rewarding part is seeing our people achieve their goals and how happy it makes them.

Do you have any advice to anybody thinking about joining PageGroup?

My advice would be to make sure that the division you join is something you are genuinely interested in; Page work in so many different sectors that there has to be something for everyone. I honestly think that if you have an interest or enjoy you sector, your clients and candidates get that vibe from you. They can see that you are enthusiastic and passionate about what you do.
I would definitely advise new starters to expect it to take twelve months to feel that you are getting your head around the business and the way it operates.
